Superheroes in Wilder Park
May 6th–Jul 31st 2023On the occasion of our summer blockbuster Marvelocity: The Art of Alex Ross, the museum commissioned 8 new life-sized superhero sculptures by area artists and youth groups.
Discoverable throughout Wilder Park are new works by Rafael Blanco, Nez Garza, Dave Pryor, and Charles Williams Jr. along with pieces created by Robert Apolinar with Elmhurst University students, Esmeralda Bolivar with the Elmhurst Pride Collective, John Nester with Glenbard North High School students, and Gloria Rivera with members of B. Unity & FOCUOS.
Learn more about the artists, youth groups, and their artistic process through our free audio tour. After you arrive at the park, scan a QR code at the first sculpture and it will guide you through the installation.
The outdoor public art installation is a bold preview of the Elmhurst Art Museum's summer exhibition Marvelocity, featuring the iconic work of comics legend Alex Ross.
