Education Center Registration Policies
The Elmhurst Art Museum is committed to providing high quality art instruction. We encourage all students to communicate with Museum staff promptly if programming is not meeting expectations. To provide adequate time for supply purchase and class preparation we encourage all students to register in advance of the start date of a class.
Please take a moment to review the following EAM Education Center Policies.
Pro-rating of Classes
Students are encourages to register for classes in advance of the start date. Pro-rating is available only if the student learns about the class, and wants to register for the class up to one-week after the start date.
Refunds
The Elmhurst Art Museum reserves the right to cancel any class in advance if the class registration does not meet the required minimum number of students. Students will be notified if the course they registered for is cancelled and a full refund will be offered.
Refunds will be granted only if the student drops the class prior to the second scheduled class. The refund will be made for the tuition of all the classes except the first.
Not attending a class does NOT constitute an official withdrawal from a class or cancellation of tuition or fees.
The Elmhurst Art Museum reserves the right to charge any processing fees and adjusted tuition payments to the credit card numbers given to the Museum by the student. The Elmhurst Art Museum also reserves the right to return tuition payments by check even if the student paid through a different method.
Make-up Classes
Elmhurst Art Museum follows the Elmhurst Park District regarding weather related cancellations. In the event that a class is cancelled due to a holiday, teacher absence, or weather; that class will be made up at the same day and time during the week immediately following the end of the session.
Should the number of make-up classes exceed the number of dates permitted by the Elmhurst Art Museum then a voucher equivalent to the tuition of the missed class will be issued. Individual student absences cannot be made up and tuition cannot be refunded.
Exceptions to this policy must be requested in writing and submitted to the Director of Education and Outreach for approval.
